White Sand & Teal Water: Turks & Caicos

Turks & Caicos remains simply the most glorious place we’ve visited! The most perfect white sand beaches and beautiful teal water. The best sunsets I’ve ever witnessed. Grace Bay Beach in Turks & Caicos is truly the most incredible place.

We stayed at a lovely resort called The Sands [Link]. We visited in mid-December [2016] after my cousin had HIGHLY recommended this resort [and she’s been all over the Caribbean!] While it’s not an all-inclusive resort, we did love everything about it. It was super quiet while we were there and is definitely not a party scene vibe from what we can tell! They had complimentary bikes and kayaks to check out, many pools, including a lazy river, and plenty of poolside seating and cabanas on the beach!

They had a manager’s pool party one evening with a ton of food and drinks. We walked to the grocery store [super easy walk + super safe!] to buy items for lunches and drinks for the week. While there was a definite increase in prices at the grocery store, it was still a big savings throughout the week and that worked really well for us. Hemingway’s is the restaurant on site at The Sands and we fell in love with their fish tacos and the restaurant is right on the beach- ahmazing! We also walked the beach to a few nearby restaurants too that were all very good. [Coco Bistro was one of them! Link]

Other costs to take note of: It was $14 per person each way for a private cab from airport to hotel and only a 10-15 minute ride. It was $89 per adult for the Caicos Dream Snorkel Cruises! We had such a blast on this excursion. The rum punch, food and adventure was amazing!! And there was a slide off the boat. Now who can say no to that on a Wednesday?! We also got to see Grace Bay’s “famous dolphin” JoJo on our boat ride!

We also did a vespa tour and amazingly we were the only people who signed up for the group tour, so it was just us. We had a wonderful guide and we got to explore the whole island! We booked through Paradise Scooter Tours [Link] We stopped at an included lunch at da Conch Shack and we had a beachside view for lunch. It was wonderful! [Link]

Something that we heard about and witnessed [but didn’t find time to do!] was heading to Potcake Place, a shelter for orphaned puppies, to take puppies for a walk on the beach! [Link] We saw several people in the airport on the way home who ended up adopting puppies and taking them home with them! Awwww. Puppies.

Enjoy the rest of these glorious photos and then open another tab and book a trip. We set the bar VERY high for our first trip together as a couple. Maybe it’s time to go back?!
